As the labor market continues to evolve, workforce practitioners need practical ways to help jobseekers understand career options, identify viable pathways, and make informed decisions about employment, education, training, and advancement.
The October 6th training brings together WPTI’s approaches to labor market information (LMI) and career pathways to help practitioners translate labor market insights into participant-centered career exploration and coaching. Participants will explore how information about occupations, skills, wages, education and credential requirements, and advancement opportunities can be used to identify potential career pathways and support more informed career conversations.
Through practical examples and discussion, participants will consider how to make labor market information accessible and relevant to jobseekers and connect immediate employment goals with longer-term career development and advancement.
Participants will have the opportunity to continue the conversation during an optional follow-up Lunch & Learn on December 1. This interactive session will provide space to share experiences, discuss challenges, exchange resources and strategies, and explore how practitioners are applying LMI and career-pathway approaches in their work.

Connect labor market information to career pathways and potential next steps for jobseekers.
Apply participant-centered strategies for translating LMI into practical career exploration and coaching conversations.

Workforce development professionals who support jobseekers with career exploration, employment, education and training, or advancement, including career coaches, case managers, job developers, employment specialists, program managers, and supervisors.
No prior experience using labor market information is required.
